Abruzzo Pizza
About This Spot
Stepping into Abruzzo Pizza feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood treasure where time moves at a comforting, unhurried pace. Though it’s primarily a takeout spot, the warm bustle around the counter—lively with friendly exchanges and quick, familiar service—creates a welcoming rhythm that settles you in even before your order is called. The smells of bubbling tomato sauce and freshly baked dough weave through the air, stirring gentle anticipation for the food to come.
This is not a place chasing trends but a steady presence in Richmond Hill, where recipes feel like quiet heirlooms passed down through generations. Here, there’s a satisfying honesty in each bite: dough crisped just right, toppings piled generously, and sauces bright with balanced flavor. Whether it’s a pepperoni pizza layered with classic comforts or a deep-fried panzerotto bursting with savory goodness, the dishes invite you to slow down and savor something familiar yet thoughtfully made.
People come back to Abruzzo not just for the food, but for its steady heart—a reminder of simpler, comforting meals shared and remembered. It’s a spot that lives quietly alongside the rhythm of the neighborhood, where flavors evoke childhood memories and the warmth of a space that feels seen and steady, regardless of the day’s rush.
While the focus is firmly on pizza, there’s a subtle variety that reflects a love for Italian tradition—homemade pastas, hearty sandwiches, and little sides that round out the meal with care and character. Coming here is to reconnect, if only for a moment, with food that feels both honest and deeply satisfying.

After reading some of the reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. Came here for a Friday night dinner and the place was packed but we were seated pretty quickly. Service was very fast and the pizza did not disappoint. As mentioned on some of the other reviews, they do not slack on toppings. The only reason why I gave it 4 and not a 5 was that the Greek salad was not the freshest I've tasted, but it was still very delicious. The calamari was also tasty but was very oily, which was a bit of a turn off. What was very surprising was that the place has 3 conjoined parts, one being the main restaurant and the other two are for delivery and take out.

Amazing, simple and tasty pizza. Great spot to take out from as there’s no seating, but you can always grab and sit somewhere nice as it’s a really good area in general, great staff, great pizza.

I first tried this pizza as a little kid in the late 80s when my aunt lived in Richmond Hill. I havnt tried it in over 20 years until today. I took a 50 min drive to come to Abruzzo Pizza. This place was just as I remember. Pizza is delicious, tasty, cooked right, tomato sauce is incredible, full of flavour! I got a party pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and bacon and it brought back memories of my childhood! I highly recommend this place if someone wants to try authentic, great quality, homemade pizza!

A classic spot in Richmond Hill that has stood the test of time. The portions are good and the food reminds you of flavours from your childhood. It is vital to keep places like these open!

This review is directed only to the Take Out portion of the business. I have been a customer since Abruzzo began in 1981. I also grew up eating this same recipe pizza from the same owners' previous pizza businesses. For me, Abruzzo Pizza is simply the best pizza available anywhere. We always order the "Abruzzo Special Pizza" because it has everything that we could want. We ask for fresh garlic sprinkled over the top. For us, this makes a HUGE difference in the flavour, and thankfully, it costs nothing other than asking. It is hard to find any other place to get pizza that will do that, or even could do that. You might get garlic powder or something else, but you won't get fresh garlic. Also, valuable coupons come with your order that you can use on all of your future visits to enjoy additional savings on top of the great prices that exist already. Abruzzo Pizza is more than just great Pizza. Visit the menu to find out. One thing is for sure that whatever it is that you order, you will not be disappointed. ¡Buon appetito!

The deep fried panzerotto with side of meat sauce is absolutely delicious! When it's fresh, the dough and cheese is so warm and gooey in your mouth and it's perfect without even any additional fillings. The panzerotto is also HUGE and I only ate half before I was full, so extra value. Definitely a gem!
